OFFICE of the VICE PROVOST for RESEARCH

Research Administration, Development & Support

Dr. Collis R. Geren (cgeren@uark.edu; 575-7762; OZAR 119) is the Dean of the Graduate School and the Vice Provost for Research. He is the chief research officer for the University. As vice provost, he is responsible for assisting University personnel in obtaining funding for their scholarship, then initiating the management once awards are made. He is also responsible for the management of the University’s intellectual property. As Dean of the Graduate School, he is responsible for the quality of the graduate academic programs as well as the quality and quantity of graduate students. Research Support & Sponsored Programs, the Survey Research Center, Technology Licensing & Transfer, Testing Services, the University of Arkansas Press, and the Arkansas Biotechnology Center report to Vice Provost Geren as do the interdisciplinary programs in Cell & Molecular Biology, Gerontology, Microelectronics-Photonics, Public Policy, and Space & Planetary Sciences.
