Stephen Langsner called the meeting to order at 2:30 P.M.

  1. The minutes for May 23, 2008 were approved.
  2. Course Change Proposals:
    1. Undergraduate course change proposals (Table A) were approved without opposition and forwarded for the November 2008 Faculty Senate meeting.
    2. Graduate course and Dual course change proposals (Tables B and C) were approved without opposition with the exception of ANSC 4263 and will forwarded for the next Graduate Council meeting. ANSC 4263 was a dual credit class and the syllabus did not list what graduate students were required to complete above and beyond the undergraduate students that would allow them to receive graduate credit for the class. It was proposed that once the wording was added that an email vote would be called for. If passed then the course proposal would proceed to the next Graduate Council meeting for consideration.

  5. Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences – Department of Animal Sciences, ANSCBS – (Table One, Attachment 1A) was presented by Donna Graham. The program change requested to reduce the hours of Production course credits from 7 to 6 and increase the Discipline related elective hours from 15 to 16. The proposal was tabled until the ANSC 4263 course syllabus is corrected and approved by an email vote of the committee. If the course is approved then the program change will be forwarded for the November 2008 Faculty Senate meeting.
  6. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Education and Health Professions – Department of Curriculum and Instruction, CATEBS – BUED (Table Two, Attachment 2A) was presented by Betsy Orr. The program change requested to drop ISYS 2263 as a required course and add a 3-hour computer course elective and several other course requirements. The proposal was approved pending a signature of approval from the dean’s office of the Walton College of Business. Then the proposal will be forwarded for the November 2008 Faculty Senate meeting.
  7. Proposed undergraduate program change for the College of Education and Health Professions – Department of Curriculum and Instruction, CATEBS – TEED (Table Two, Attachment 2B) was presented by Betsy Orr. The program change requested to replace the GNEG 1103 requirement with GNEG 1111 & 1121, replace CSCE 1012 with ELEG 29903, replace COMM 3803 with COMM1313, delete MEEG 1103, delete BENG 1022 and CIED 1003 and add CVEG 4513. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the November 2008 Faculty Senate meeting.
  8. There were no graduate program changes.
