Stephen Langsner called the meeting to order at 2:31 P.M.
- The minutes for January 23, 2009 were approved.
- Course Change Proposals:
- Undergraduate and School of Law course change proposals (Tables A & D) were approved without opposition and forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting. One course, ARCH 4653, was added to the undergraduate course change proposals and was approved without opposition and will be forwarded with the original list.
- Graduate course and Dual course change proposals (Tables B and C) were approved without opposition and will forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting as they were already approved to be forwarded by Graduate Council on February 19, 2009.

- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences – Department of Economics – ECNCBA, BA, Economics (Table One, Attachment 1A) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested to modify the degree requirements to reflect changes in the Walton College curriculum and course offerings. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumper College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences – Department of Agricultural and Extension Education - AECTBS – BSA, Agricultural Education, Communication and Technology (Table Two, Attachment 2A) was presented by Donna Graham. The program change requested to change several departmental core and concentration requirements. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumper College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences – Department of Agricultural and Extension Education – ACOM-M – Minor in Agricultural Communications (Table Two, Attachment 2B and Attachment 2C) was presented by Donna Graham. The program change requested to add a new minor in Agricultural Communications. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Bumper College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences – School of Human Environmental Sciences - APSTBS – BSHES, Apparel Studies (Table Two, Attachment 2D) was presented by Donna Graham. The program change requested to increase the computer core to six hours by adding AGED 4243, Graphic Design, and reducing elective hours from 12 to 9. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – All Minors in Business for both Business Majors and Non-Business Majors (Table Three, Attachment 3A) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested to require Walton College upper level courses for all minors to be completed in residence. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – Walton College and Departmental Scholars Programs (Table Three, Attachment 3B) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested to require a three-hour departmental colloquium for all Walton College honor students to be complete in their major area of study. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – Department of Accounting – ACCTBS – BSBA, Accounting (Table Three, Attachment 3C) was presented by Bill Curington. The program proposal requested to change several course requirements. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – Department of Accounting – ACCTBS – BSBA, Accounting – BSIB Concentration (Table Three, Attachment 3D) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested to drop ACCT 3013, Accounting Views and Add ACCT 3753, Intermediate Accounting II. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – Department of Accounting – WACT-M – Accounting Minor for Business Students (Table Three, Attachment 3E) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested to drop ACCT 3013, Accounting Views and Add ACCT 3753, Intermediate Accounting II as a required course. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed undergraduate program change for the Walton College of Business – Department of Accounting – ACCT-M – Accounting Minor for Non-Business Students (Table Three, Attachment 3F) was presented by Bill Curington. The program change requested several course changes to the required course listing. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Faculty Senate meeting.
- Proposed graduate program change for the Department of Industrial Engineering - ORESMS – MS, Operations Research (Table Four, Attachment 4A and Attachment 4B) was presented by Terry Martin. The program change requested to eliminate the program. The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Graduate Council meeting.
- Other Business:
A proposed program change for the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences – Department of Foreign Languages – Attachments One and two was added to the agenda. The program change requested to change the name and alpha code for the Department of Foreign Languages (FLAN) to the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures (WLLC). The proposal was approved without opposition and will be forwarded for the March 2009 Graduate Council meeting.
