Steps for Obtaining Graduate Faculty Status for Adjunct Faculty
Using the standard departmental and college approval procedure for adjunct faculty, the nominee is appointed to an adjunct academic position on the UA campus.
A complete Graduate Faculty Status application, with a full vitae or resume, is submitted in the ordinary way. The Graduate School acts on it exactly as if the nominee were a regular faculty member, except that the status will normally be temporary (T).
NOTE: Normally, Graduate Faculty with an adjunct position do not chair a student's thesis/dissertation or advisory committee, but departments may request an exception from the Dean of the Graduate School.
